Update – Armed robbery, Townsville

A man has been charged following investigations into the robbery of an Oonoonba convenience store on Saturday morning.

It will be alleged around 8.55am a man entered the Abbott Street business, threatening two employees, a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, before stealing cash from the tills and running from the store.

A 34-year-old Oonoonba man has been charged with armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence. He is expected to appear at the Townsville Magistrates Court today (March 21).
