Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on the Centenary Highway at Springfield Lakes this morning.
Around 1.50am a vehicle travelling eastbound on the highway has left the roadway hitting a guard rail causing significant damage to the vehicle.
The male driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene and the male passenger was transported to the Princess Alexandria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Centenary Highway is currently closed in both directions at the location with diversions in place. Police are asking motorist to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.
The Forensic crash unit is investigating.
