Robbery charges, South Brisbane

Two men have been charged following an incident in South Brisbane last night where a man was allegedly assaulted and robbed.

It will be alleged that just after midnight a 26-year-old man was approached by eight males at the corner of Vulture and Browning Street and was asked for a cigarette.

The man was then allegedly assaulted and knocked to the ground. The group then allegedly stolen the man’s bag and phone.

The man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police located four males a short distance from the incident and they were arrested and taken into custody.

Two juveniles were later released without charge.

A 19-year-old Durack man and a 20-year-old Inala man have been charged with one count each of robbery in company.

They are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, March 19.

Investigations are continuing.
