Update: armed robbery, Yamanto

Ipswich detectives have charged a man following investigations into an alleged armed robbery in Yamanto on March 11.

It will be alleged around 12.20am a man entered a service station on the Cunningham Highway and made threats, armed with a handgun.

The man fled the store after allegedly taking cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

The 32-year-old male attendant was not physically harmed during the incident.

An 18-year-old Willowbank man has been charged with armed robbery.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today, March 16.
