Traffic crash and weapons located, Bonogin

Police are investigating a traffic incident this morning in Bonogin which resulted in the discovery of several handguns.

Around 12.45am, witnesses claim to have heard a car revving heavily on Magnolia Lane before observing the vehicle drive down a grassy slope and crash.

On police arrival, the 37-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was located with injuries, inside the car.

He was transported to the Gold Coast University hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located what is believed to be a handgun as well as two replica handguns.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
