A 43-year-old local man, arrested at the scene of an alleged double homicide yesterday, remains in police custody with charges expected later today.
Police will allege that two women, aged 43 and 66, sustained apparent fatal stab wounds following a disturbance at a Wiltshire Drive address yesterday afternoon.
Police were called to the address around 3.45pm where they located the two women deceased.
A 72-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman were also found at the address suffering from lacerations. Both were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A crime scene was declared and remains in place today.
All five people were from Gordonvale and were known to each other.
