Update – Fatal traffic incident, Doonan

Police have charged a 35-year-old Noosaville man following a fatal traffic incident that occurred at Doonan last night.

It will be alleged just after 6pm, a utility and a bicycle collided on Eumundi Noosa Road. The 42-year-old male bicycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police have charged the male driver of the utility with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, and assault or obstruct police.

A second man, who was a passenger in the utility, is assisting police with their inquiries.

The 35-year-old is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, March 15.
