Suspicious fire, Beerwah

Police are investigating a house fire that occurred in Beerwah this afternoon.

Police and emergency crews attended a fire in Strawberry Street around midday and found a house engulfed in flames.

A grass fire was also found to be burning in an adjacent property. Both fires were extinguished however the house was destroyed as a result of the fire.

All occupants were accounted for with no one sustaining any injuries as a result of the fire.

A 40-year-old man was located a short time later near the properties and was taken into custody. He is currently assisting police with their investigations.

Police have declared a crime scene and investigations are continuing.
