Serious assault police, Townsville

Police have charged a 29-year-old man with two counts of serious assault police after a disturbance in Fulham Road, Heatley yesterday afternoon.

Around 3pm police will allege the man became aggressive when being arrested and punched a male police officer to the face several times.

It will further be alleged the man has then thrown a female police officer to the ground causing serious injury to her shoulder.

Police will allege the man continued to wrestle with the male police officer on the ground until he was subdued and restrained.

A 29-year-old Heatley man will appear in Townsville Magistrate Court today charged with two counts of serious assault police.
