Closure of drug operation, Darling Downs

Police have charged 26 people following the closure of Operation Oscar Kyanite, a three week drug operation targeting properties in the Darling Downs area.

Police from Goombungee, Crows Nest, Oakey, Jondaryan, Toowoomba Tactical Crime Squad and Toowoomba CIB executed several search warrants in the Goombungee, Oakey and Crows Nest area.

The search warrants resulted in 26 people being arrested on more than 43 charges.

Charges include possession of dangerous drugs (cannabis and amphetamines), producing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils used for smoking or administering drugs and possession of explosives and firearms.

Further charges are expected to be made over the coming weeks.

These search warrants resulted from information being received from members of the public and Crime Stoppers and shows the great support from the local community in providing police with this information.
