Suspicious fire, Beenleigh

Police are investigating a fire at a residence overnight in Beenleigh, which is believed to have started under suspicious circumstances.

Just after 1am this morning, police were called to reports of a fire at two story residence on Spanns Road.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire which caused major damage to the first floor and further damage to the second floor.

Nobody was injured as a result of the fire. The residence was unoccupied at the time.

There is no further information available. Investigations will continue today.
