The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Mary Valley Road at Amamoor this afternoon.
Preliminary investigations suggest that around 1.45pm, a grey sports utility vehicle (SUV) was travelling south along Mary Valley Road when it has crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with an oncoming truck.
The sole occupant of the SUV, a 58-year-old woman from Pomona, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the truck, a 64-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Gympie Hospital.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident who has not already spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
