Serious traffic crash, Southport

Police are investigating a traffic crash that occurred earlier this morning in Southport.

Around 2.15am, police were called to a single vehicle traffic crash on Queen Street where a car had struck a power pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a woman believed to be aged in her 20s, was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital with serious injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
