Detectives investigating the suspected murder of Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru this morning recovered a large metal box from a dam on Mudgee Street in Kingston.
The box was removed from the dam this afternoon and conveyed to the John Tonge Centre for examination. The box was subsequently opened and found to contain the remains of two people.
The remains will be subject to post mortem examinations and positive identification.
There is no further information available at this time.
Police continue to appeal for information in relation to this investigation and are seeking public assistance in relation to the movements of a dark green 1999 Toyota Hilux utility, Queensland Registration 684 VEP on the evening of 24 January 2016, and information concerning the current whereabouts of two yellow fluorescent ratchet straps which were disposed of on Third Avenue, Marsden, on 25 January 2016.
