Sudden death during severe thunderstorm, Scarness (Hervey Bay)

A man has died after a severe thunderstorm impacted the Hervey Bay area last night.

Around 7.30pm, a 68-year-old Narangba man was struck by a falling tree branch at a caravan park on Charlton Esplanade in Scarness, severely injuring him.

He was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital, but was declared deceased upon arrival.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
