Death investigation, Yandaran (Bundaberg)

Police are appealing for public assistance following the death of a man in Yandaran, north of Bundaberg.

Around 6.15am yesterday, fishermen discovered the body of a man in Mullet Creek and alerted police.

Subsequent enquiries have confirmed the deceased to be a 64-year-old Bucca man and police are investigating to determine the cause of his death.

Police believe deceased was last seen alive on the evening of Australia Day drinking at Norval Park Beach.

From there, it is thought that he left the beach area in a white utility along South Littabella Road with his two dogs.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the deceased at either Norval Park beach, Mullet Creek or anywhere along South Littabella Road between January 26 and January 29.

One of the deceased’s dogs was located along South Littabella Road and is now being cared for. The other dog and his vehicle have not yet been found.

Investigations are continuing.
