Update: Missing man, Noosa

UPDATE: 11 January 2016 – below media release has been amended after the vehicle mentioned in the release was located interstate. This vehicle has been eliminated from police enquiries

Police have released a photo of a vehicle (pictured) similar to the one belonging to 37-year-old Ricky Gardner who went missing at a Noosa Beach yesterday morning.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the car either travelling on the road or parked to contact them.

A search by police has been underway since yesterday morning in an effort to locate Mr Gardner after he entered the water and swam away from the shore off Main Beach on Hastings Street.

It is unknown whether he made it back to shore or exited the water safely.

Mr Gardner is described as Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall, slim build and has light complexion. It is unknown what he was wearing at the time of going missing.

Police are urging Mr Gardner or anyone who may have contact with him to contact police to verify that he is safe.
