Arson charges, Woorabinda

Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with arson following a building fire at Woorabinda early this morning.

It will be alleged that at around 3am the boy deliberately lit a Munns Drive building on fire, causing the building to be completely destroyed.

Emergency services attended the scene and the fire was extinguished.

The building was unoccupied and no one was injured as a result of the fire.

A crime scene was established and police will continue to guard the scene today as investigations into the blaze continue.

A 15-year-old Woorabinda boy has been charged with one count each of arson and wilful damage. He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
