Grievous bodily harm, Mount Isa

A 28-year-old man Parkside man has been charged after a female staff member sustained critical injuries at a Mount Isa licensed premises earlier this morning.

At 12am, a 36-year-old Happy Valley woman was standing at the main entrance to the Grace Street venue when she was approached by a man who had been refused entry.

The employee was speaking with another woman when she was allegedly assaulted by the man causing her to fall the ground, hitting her head.

The woman was transported to Mount Isa Hospital with critical head injuries.

She will be transferred to Townsville Base Hospital this morning.

A 28-year-old Parkside man is scheduled to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on January 11 charged with grievous bodily harm.
