A man has been charged after an 85-year-old woman was allegedly robbed in Brisbane City today leaving her with minor facial injuries.
It will be alleged at 12.45pm, an Inala woman was withdrawing money from an ATM in the Queen Street shopping precinct when a man allegedly reached over her shoulder, took the cash from the machine and fled the scene.
The woman attempted to grab the man’s shirt, however he allegedly pushed the victim causing her to fall over and sustain a small laceration to her face and hip pain.
Members of the public detained the man until police arrived and took him into custody.
The woman received medical treatment at the scene and did not require hospitalisation.
A 30-year-old Herston man is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 19 charged with robbery and used personal violence.
