A crime scene remains in place in Teneriffe this afternoon as part of police investigations into two deaths.
Around 9pm, police attended an address on Commercial Road to conduct a welfare check.
Upon arrival, officers discovered human remains inside a unit.
A search of surrounding streets later led to the discovery of a man’s body in Dath Street.
Police are treating the death of the man as non-suspicious, however the Ethical Standards Command is overseeing this aspect of the investigation.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human remains inside the unit remain ongoing.
Fortitude Valley CIB Officer in Charge Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Armitt is appealing for public assistance as part of their investigation.
“We’d like anyone who may have been at the unit complex or around the area last night who may have seen anything suspicious to contact police,” he said.
Officers, including specialist police, will remain at the scene throughout the day.
There is no further information available at this time.
