Drug charges, Sunshine Coast

Police have charged three men with drug related offences after a search warrant was executed at a Como residence on the Sunshine Coast yesterday morning.

Officers from the Sunshine Coast District Gang Squad and Tactical Crime Squad attended the Galloways Lane property and allegedly located glassware, chemicals and other equipment believed to have been used in the production of methyl amphetamine.

A substantial sum of cash and a quanitity of cannabis were also allegedly discovered during the search.

A 53-year-old Cedar Vale man was charged with eight offences including two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing items used in the commission of a crime; and one count each of possessing drug utensils, possessing tainted property and unlawfully possessing explosives (ammunition). He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 23.

A 47-year-old Coolum Beach man was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 8.

A 38-year-old-man from the Northern Territory was charged with possessing dangerous drugs and utensils and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 21.

Investigations are continuing.
