Police from the Rockhampton Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) yesterday charged a 41-year-old woman with failing in her obligation as a parent to ensure compulsory school attendance.
It is alleged the offences occurred between October and November 2013.
“With the commencement of the school year fast approaching, it is a timely reminder to parents to ensure they meet their obligations relating to the compulsory attendance of children at school,” Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Elliot of the Rockhampton CPIU said.
