The Bundaberg Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has rescheduled the time for residents and property owners from the Exclusion Zone in North Bundaberg to view their property.
The LDMG was hopeful that affected residents in the Exclusion Zone would be able to undertake a brief inspection of their properties today from 2pm.
That time has been reassessed and at 6am tomorrow morning, residents of North Bundaberg will be allowed into the Exclusion Zone for a short period of time to look, check and retrieve small personal items.
The conditions of entry will be:
– You MUST be a resident or an owner of property – home and/or business of the Exclusion Zone
– Must have a form of identification (e.g. Driver’s License or Rates notice)
– It is preferable that you walk, however a car is ok
– Do not use toilets or other bathroom facilities
– Do not undertake in any clean-up activities
Buses will also be available from 7am, leaving from the Civic Centre and Agrotrend Evacuation Centres. Buses back to evacuation centres will be staggered.
Community Support Services will be available at the Supa IGA in North Bundaberg . This will include psychological services and the Red Cross.
Police will be patrolling the zone and ask that people not dwell.
Please be advised that identification will be checked on entry and possibly checked at random when inside the zone.
All residents will need to leave the zone by nightfall.
