Fatal traffic crash, near Beerwah

Police are investigating following a fatal traffic crash on the Bruce Highway this evening.

Around 6.30pm, a semi-trailer travelling north on the Bruce Highway near Bells Creek Road has struck a male pedestrian.

The 32-year-old Coombabah man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi-trailer was not physically injured.

One lane was closed on the highway for a number of hours, but has since re-opened.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
