UPDATE: fatal traffic incident, Cairns

An 84-year-old man struck by a bus at Parramatta Park in Cairns earlier this month has died as a result of his injuries.

Around 5am on October 9, the man was crossing Mulgrave Road at the ‘Fiveways’ when he was hit by a bus.

The local man was transported to Cairns Base Hospital in a critical condition and was pronounced deceased yesterday afternoon.

The 38-year-old male bus driver was not physically injured during the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the incident and is urging anyone who may have seen the incident to contact police.
