Fatal traffic crash, Durack

A boy who was struck by a vehicle at Durack this morning has died.

About 11.45am, the 9-year-old was riding a scooter when he was struck by a four wheel drive at the intersection of Chippaway Street and Akama Road.

The boy received medical treatment at the scene and was transported to the Mater Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, but he died a short time later.

The 26-year-old female driver of the four wheel drive was not physically injured in the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
