A man has been charged after allegedly damaging equipment at a medical facility in Southport this afternoon.
It is alleged that about 12.45pm the 47-year-old Mermaid Waters man entered a medical facility in Queen Street and damaged computer and X-ray equipment. It is further alleged he threw a fire extinguisher at a door before leaving the facility.
He was detained by security guards and arrested by police a short time later.
The man was charged with one count of wilful damage in relation to this incident.
He was further charged with being a public nuisance following an earlier disturbance at a Southport shopping centre.
He remains in custody and is due to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
