Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Burleigh Heads this evening.
Shortly before 7.20pm, a man entered the store at the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway and Fifth Avenue.
He produced a knife and threatened the male store employee while making demands for money.
The store attendant handed over money from the till and the offender took the cash and cigarettes before fleeing the store on foot.
He was last seen running along Fifth Avenue.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance with a tanned complexion, about 40-years-old, solid build, 170cms tall and short sandy hair.
He was wearing a white polo shirt, a black baseball cap with white writing on the front, blue jeans and white sports shoes.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
