How do you report someone missing? – National Missing Persons Week

Across Australia, thousands of people are reported missing each year. No one wants to think about a family member or friend going missing. Unfortunately though, it can easily happen.

If you believe a friend or loved one is missing, it is critical that you provide accurate and detailed information as soon as possible.

It is a common myth that you have to wait 24 hours before filing a missing persons report.

So please, call your local police if you fear for someone’s safety or have information regarding someone’s disappearance.

Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigations should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au 24hrs a day.

Crime Stoppers is a charitable community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.
