Police are investigating a burglary with violence incident that occurred in Inala last night.
Around 9.30pm, two men gained entry to a Hickory Place residence and threatened the occupants, a 93-year-old man and a 91-year-old woman, with a knife.
One of the offenders punched the 93-year-old man in the face before stealing a sum of personal property and running from the scene.
The 93-year-old sustained a laceration to the eyebrow and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
The woman was not physically injured during the incident.
Both offenders were wearing dark clothing at the time of the offence, and are described as being tall with solid builds. The offender armed with the knife was wearing a balaclava.
Investigations are continuing.
