Cairns Police have located two bodies believed to be those of Scott Maitland and Cindy Masonwells.
Mr Maitland, 35, and Ms Masonwells, 33, were last seen in Cairns on Thursday July 5.
A 40-year-old Bungalow man has been charged with two counts of murder following investigations into their disappearance and is due to re-appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 3.
Formal identification procedures are still to be completed and investigations are continuing.
