Arson investigation, Home Hill

Ayr detectives have charged a woman in connection with the alleged break and enter and arson of a rural supplies business in Home Hill early this morning.

Emergency services attended the First Avenue business around 3am to find it engulfed in flames. The building sustained significant damage.

Following investigations into the fire and the alleged theft of property from the business police have charged a 26-year-old local woman with one count of receiving stolen property.

The woman is due to appear before the Ayr Magistrates Court on August 3.

A 15-year-old local boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992 in relation to one count of break and enter.

Investigations are continuing regarding the arson.
