Police are investigating the robbery of a taxi driver in Cairns early this morning.
Just after midnight a man caught a taxi at a service station on Roberts Road and directed the taxi driver to stop near a school on Arthur Street.
The man demanded money, threatening the driver with a knife while restraining his arm behind the seat. He stole a sum of cash before fleeing on foot towards McLeod Street.
The man is described as being in his mid 30s, dark complexion, black hair, 165cm tall with a heavy build.
Police believe the man pictured may be able to assist with their inquiries.
