Officer injured in traffic crash, Boondall

A 44-year-old male senior constable has been hospitalised with non life threatening injuries following a two vehicle crash at Boondall this morning.

Preliminary information suggests that the motorcycle officer and a marked police vehicle were both proceeding to a truck rollover at Boondall around 10.45am when they collided.

The crash occurred approximately 500 metres south of the Bicentennial Road roundabout, on the Gateway Motorway.

The driver of the police car, a 52-year-old man was not injured.

The crash is being investigated by the Forensic Crash Unit and overviewed by the Ethical Standards Command.
