Cairns detectives are appealing to anyone with information which may assist with their investigations into an alleged sexual assault of a Cairns woman on the afternoon of Tuesday May 29.
A 39-year-old Westcourt man was last week charged with one count of rape as well as six counts of sexual assault. He is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates court on July 25.
Detectives are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen a white coloured van parked parallel to the road on Lily Street, North Cairns, near the exercise park between the hours of 1:30pm and 2:30pm on May 29.
The van is described as being white in colour with tinted windows, large shiny ‘mag’ wheels and a large white sticker on the rear tinted window.
