Wounding, Stafford Heights

Police are investigating after a man was wounded at Stafford Heights overnight.

Around 12.45am the 19-year-old man was walking on Springvale Street when he was approached by a man asking for a cigarette.

When the 19-year-old didn’t provide a cigarette he was stabbed in chest with an unknown weapon.

The victim was able to walk home before seeking medical treatment at the Prince Charles Hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

The offender is described as being of African appearance, 185cm tall and solid build. He was wearing shoes, shorts and a black shirt.
