A man is due to appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court following an alleged incident at Wootha overnight.
It will be alleged the man restrained a woman and made demands of her at a home in Wootha before she managed to escape and contact police.
The woman received minor injuries as a result of the struggle.
A 55-year-old man has been charged with one count of assault with intent to commit rape and is due to appear before court on May 1, 2012.
